Oat Couture: “Build it and they will come”—Kevin Costner. Field Of Dreams.
I built Golden Apple Cider Granola and they came—with bowls and spoons; with Greek yogurt and with milk. And even after a second production run, we only have 50 units left:
The scorecards were all unanimously positive; this got me thinking about unexpected hits of the past:
On August 15th 1969 Woodstock Festival organizers anticipated few attendees. But by breakfast, the traffic jam stretched 17 miles, bumper-to-bumper, down the New York State Thruway. 53 years later, I under-estimated the demand for the Empire State’s other great export—apples.
Buried like gooey rhinestones, dried cinnamon apples were this granola’s main headliner. With gourmet cider powder as fresh as Janis Joplin; star-spangled with turmeric and a carefree hint of sea salt and black pepper—this is the granola the 1960s never had!
“Chef’s kiss.” “Ate the whole bag in one sitting.” “Please take my money.” “Total winner.” “Takes me back to granny’s”—the praise was higher than Jefferson Airplane.
So yes! Golden Apple Cider will be coming back. But maybe not how you are expecting—look out for a special announcement later this year. Thank you for a very crunchy summer of love!
Dear Tom,
I am 8 months pregnant and devoured the apple cider granola in 3 sittings. I check DAILY for more. Please consider this when deciding on your next flavor: somewhere a heavily pregnant woman is dreaming about the chewy bits of apple in that perfect granola. 20/10 the best food I have had all pregnancy. It deserves an award.
Signed,

I really loved this flavor! That sweet tart taste is my fave. Mangonada is still my favorite though!
